The BMW Club:
The ‘BMW Club Oirschot en omstreken’ was founded in 1971.
The small picturesque village of Oirschot is located in the south of the Netherlands, between Tilburg and Eindhoven.
The club has a touring character, and organizes one day and longer tours, museum visits, excursions to various companies and factories, (including the BMW factory in Berlin).
During longer tours we often find ourselves in a tent in another European country.
At present we have approximately sixty members.
The club is a member of LOOT (Dutch national motorcycle touring organization)
Annual events that are organized by our club:
Easter BMW weekend
This is a weekend exclusively for BMW motorcycles. The location varies from year to year, but the basis is formed by a camping weekend, surrounded by run outs, campfires, organized food and drink, and live music on the Saturday evening. Usually there is bunkhouse accommodation available.
Prior information can be acquired by calling Noëlle ( 00316-51701007.
Old-timer run
This is an event that takes place every year on the first Sunday in May.
It is exclusively for BMW motorcycles manufactured before 1969 (up to and including the Earls Fork models).
The route is planned around the village of Oirschot, and covers about 100 km’s. During the run there is a stop for drinks (non alcoholic) and snacks provided free of charge by the club.
Normally we have 50+ motorcycles participating, so it is well worth a visit, even if it is only to look at some of the bikes taking part!!
